Fascinating physics: what are detectors?

Surely you often have questions about how the world around them works, and you cannot always find answers in school textbooks. But they can be received by the talk show for children "What was required to prove!", Which was launched by the Network of Information Centers for Atomic Energy (ICAE).

At the show, scientists use science and experiments to answer questions, find and debunk the myths that live in our minds. The host of the talk show - Platon Klivakin from Novosibirsk - this time was puzzled by a number of questions related to detectors. And Yegor Zadeba, Candidate of Physics, Associate Professor of the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, became an expert of the fourth edition of #CHTChildren.

In this issue we are talking about what a muon hodoscope, Large Hadron Collider and IceCube are, what can be seen through and whether a detector can be assembled at home. Traditionally, the most unusual questions are asked by children from different cities of Russia, as well as by members of the A.T.O.M. team. - characters that accompany all the events of the ICAE for children.

The talk show is aimed at children from 9 to 12 years old, their parents and everyone for whom science is a way of explaining the world around them. You will learn about everything that consists of atoms - interesting and reliable!

The broadcast of the show is available on the YouTube channel Myatom.ru. You can send questions for the next episodes of talk shows to chtd@myatom.ru
